Ritual Offerings arrived and goodness gracious it is even better than I thought it would be. I ordered the book originally because I enjoyed Holy Guardian Angel so much (and because all the authors are so fantastic) but in general my thought process was something along the lines of: "Oh! Offerings. I make offerings. I'm constantly working with my familiars and HGA. This will be useful."
This book is a whole lot more than just useful, let me say.
Aaron Leitch's essay alone, in such compact and concise prose, taught me an enormous amount of information regarding the logistics of offerings. The entire anthology is essentially about feeding spirits strategically and effectively + cultivating and maintaining healthy, mutually beneficial relationships with them, alongside some examples of the various cultural perspectives on both. I'm about three quarters of the way through right now—I haven't been able to get my hands off it since I opened the package. God, Nephilim Press' books are so damn inspiring. I'm definitely going to write more on the subject of offerings and my perspectives once I'm finished. For now I'm just going to finish this beautiful thing and talk to my spirits about some new ideas that have popped up.
