Cue the incoherent babbling! I just got another birthday present in the mail and it's something I've desperately wanted for a long time now: Peter J. Carroll's The Esotericon & Portals of Chaos grimoire and portal deck set. It turns out one of my dearest friends (who is a fantastic chaos magician in his own right) bought it for me a week ago and it finally arrived. I am an excited, geeky mess right now. I can't wait to read it tomorrow.
While going through the gifts my sorcerer-friends have given me (as in, they know I do magic, so what we give each other on holidays and special occasions tends to pertain to that) I ended up putting them all together and taking some pictures. In addition to Esotericon, there's Franz Bardon's Initiation into Hermetics (finally a hard copy that's not an ebook!), Michelle Belanger's Sumerian Exorcism, a miniature Egyptian bust, and a silver chalice. I also received some truly thoughtful tokens from my initiator, but those are of a more personal nature pertaining to our tradition and I haven't included them. The mala was a treat for myself that I bought, dedicated to Ereshkigal. Its seller is the author of a blog I've been following for some time: their shop is here.
The chalice I've dedicated as my new feasting cup for witchcraft rituals and the bust has become a new vessel for a spirit. The mala arrived in the mail a few days ago and I've been working with it steadily since in devotional matters and the results have been truly wonderful. I'm feeling very warm and blessed right now and I'm super excited to go through all these new materials!
